Lincoln Market - The Heart of The City.
Central & Cornhill Markets are right in the bustling City Centre of Lincoln. They are located on Sincil Street, with City Square running along one side them and Cornhill Square the other. Across City Square and running adjacent to Central Market itself is the river that runs through the heart of Lincoln!

Central Market, along with Cornhill Market, is home to a number of independently owned businesses and retailers who offer a range of bespoke and tradional services, the emphasis being on a strong level of personal service, helpful knowledge and good fair prices for quality merchandise.

Inside the Markets you can find places to eat, fashion retailers, shoe shops, food retailers, homewares and specialist businesses selling Science Fiction Collectables, Arts & Crafts, Books and Music & Specialist DVD Collections.  There are also a number of services available within the Market - Hairdresser and Nail Technician and Clothing Alteration.

The specialist stalls are largely encapsualted within the Central Market Side of Lincoln Market, but the Cornhill Market is well worth looking at as well as in here you will find the Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Merchants, with the Butchers & Fish Market running through the central dividing mark of the Markets.

The Market is a place of activity Monday - Saturday and should not be overlooked by anyone.

Lincoln Market - A Tale of Two Parts!

Lincoln Market is comprised of two seperate markets, Central Market & Cornhill Market.

Central Market is owned and run by Lincoln City Council and is a registered market with the National Market Traders Federation.
Central Market is a building of historic note in the bustling City centre of Lincoln and the External Facade of it has a preservation order attached to it! This part of the market has a long history with some unusual events having taken place in it, such as wrestling - Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy are said to have performed within its environs!

Cornhill Market is a privately owned and run market and although not a registered market with the National Market Traders Federation, most of the stall holders are members of the NMTF. In the last few years work has been done on the Cornhill Market that has seen it drastically alter from it's more tradition form of a larger open/outdoor market to be an enclosed market.
Lincoln Markets

Throughout the year both the City Square (lincoln's largest open square) and Cornhill Square host a number of outdoor markets.

They both play host on a regular monthly basis to The Farmers Market!
Fresh and Organic Local produce at good prices can be obtained from the Farmers and Producers directly.

Another semi-regular market hosted in these locations is The Continental Market.
Here produce from the across europe can be purchased, along with leather goods and soaps.

Although not located in City Square or Cornhill Square each year Lincoln hosts The Lincoln Christmas Market.
At this time it is well worth visiting the Central Markets as well as a number of specials and activities are hosted in them for this weekend.
City Square right next to Central Market is also where the Winter Ice Rink is to be found!
